The Mask: Hiding Our Depression

The Mask: Hiding Our Depression Pin It

Stigma, shame and the fact depression

is still (too) often seen as a weakness or failing,

cause many people with the common illness

to hide their struggles and pain behind a mask.

While this can be a healthy coping mechanism,

it can also be dangerous

as it prevents us not only from living as authentic human beings,

but also from getting the help and support

we need to live healthy, connected lives.
